Obituary

PRALL, Robert Douglas "Bob" ~ Age 68, of Melvern Square, NS, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 11, 2019, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Robert Henry and Katherine Genette (Balcom) Prall. Bob was a machine operator for many years and was a hobby farmer, especially enjoyed when he had calves. He was a board member of the Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. Over the years Bob along with Vonnie opened and closed many graves in several area cemeteries, always taking great pride, care, respect and going the extra mile for the loved ones they laid to rest. He loved his 1956 Ford Customline and enjoyed going to car shows and his Wednesday night cruises with Vonnie. Bob was an avid wood carver creating many characters and enjoyed his gardens, growing fruits and vegetables. He got great joy spending time with his grandchildren when they visited and loved them dearly. Bob will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, the former LaVaughn "Vonnie" Drew, Melvern Square; his daughter, Consuelo Prall (Justin Bruce), East Kingston; stepsons, Blaine North (Desiree), Beaconsfield; Shawn (Julie) North, Fort McMurray, AB; his grandchildren, Colby, Nicole, Kristen, Cody, Carrie, Holly, Amanda; his brothers and sisters, Danny (Debbie); Stephen (Violet); Phillip (Bonnie); Heather (Keith); Randy (Brendalee); Glenn (Shelly); Liza (Eric); Timmy (Elizabeth); Wendy (Jeremy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Jamie. In keeping with Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, January 17, 2019  in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square.
