Obituary

GRIST, Robert Tudor "Bob" – of Greenwood, NS, passed away peacefully at the Annapolis Community Health Centre on August 22, 2018. Robert "Bob" Grist, born January 25, 1936, in Brantford, Ontario, was the only son of Alexander and Helen (Nesbitt) Grist. Bob joined the Royal Canadian Navy at a young age and served 30 plus years as a medic on various ships stationed on the Atlantic coast. While stationed in the Halifax area, Bob met and fell in love with and married Patricia M. Driscoll and 60 plus years of marriage, Bob and Patricia enjoyed a wonderful loving life together. Bob enjoyed reading, penning letters and was a science fiction enthusiast. Bob was a backyard naturalist and enjoyed all nature's creatures, especially his pets Jake, Salley and Wendel. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Patricia on February 17, 2017. Robert was the father to David (Sue), Halifax; Mark (Mary), Sydney; Sandy (Mai), Brisbane, Australia; Steven (Sylvia), Edmonton, AB; Michael (Wanda), Oromocto, NB; Suzanne (Oren) Gould, Halifax; Liz ( Ron) Wojcik, Halifax; Sarah (Mahmood) Fadhil, Halifax; Patrick, Greenwood; Robert (Mandy), Halifax and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Grist family would like to thank the entire staff of the Annapolis Community Health Centre, for their wonderful loving care. In keeping with Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Annapolis Community Health Centre Foundation or to the charity of one's choice.
