MacNeil, Robert Alexander ~ age 78, of Wilmot, NS, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in New Glasgow, NS, he was a son of the late Douglas and Gertrude (MacEachern) MacNeil.

Robert possessed a keen business sense and was a passionate entrepreneur throughout his life. He was a real estate dealer and operated his own accounting and income tax business. His true love, however, was antiques, and he proudly owned and operated Robert MacNeil Antiques for many years.

Robert found great joy in his work and also cherished simple pleasures— visits with friends, his many dogs he had through his life, going for drives, and watching sunsets, evenings at Lake George and Cottage Cove. Above all, he treasured the companionship of his long-time partner, Mark Robarts who wrote these words for him.

And now the bells toll for him,

Sending to rest, the light that had already dimmed,

And in his passing is stilled the glory,

As I write the final words of our story.
