Clarke, Robert Gordon "Rob" ~ Age 73, passed away with his loving family beside him on Monday, December 29, 2025, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Robert of Kentville was born in Wolfville and was the son of the late Gordon and Gladys (Hatt) Clarke of Belcher Street in Port Williams. Robert was formerly employed as an auditor for Superior Propane for 10+ years. During his life Robert was a hunter, a fisher, a pilot, a Queen Scout, was honored by the Queen Mother for saving a life, played the keyboard in a rock and roll band called the Plastic Grass, a square dancer, and an avid card player. Robert was predeceased by his grandparents and parents.
Robert was survived by his brother, Terry; his six children, Craig, Diane, Jennifer, Amanda, Devin, and August; and his grandchildren Savannah, Tyler, Alice, and Oakley. Robert will be missed by his many cousins and his friends from Belcher Street. Robert also wishes to recognize the love and support he received from his nursing home and the Valley Regional Hospital.
Robert lived a fulfilling life rich with love, joy, and family. He changed many lives he touched and raised children who love him dearly and will miss him deeply. He was an inspiration to his children and a wonderful father whom his children are proud to call their dad. Robert was known for his love of fine food, movies, walks in nature, his catchphrase 'pain in the butt', his warm hugs, and the winks he gave to those he loved.
A graveside service in celebration of his life will take place at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 9, 2026 , in Jawbone Corner Cemetery, Canard, Kings Co. Donations in his memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448.
