MacDONALD, Robert Walter "Bob" - Parked his truck peacefully on March 2, 2014 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born May 29, 1940 in Digby, NS he lived for over 40 years in Nictaux. Many of Bob's working years were spent behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler as an owner/operator and as an employee for a variety of companies such as Sunbury, Thompson's Moving & Storage and North American Vans Lines. Bob was predeceased by his son Wade MacDonald of Nictaux and brother-in-law John MacLaren of Charlottetown, PEI. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 plus years Judith Anne (Kinney); his daughters, Patricia (John) Bruce, Brooklyn; Lisa (Bill) O'Brien, New Minas; daughter-in-law, Cheryl MacDonald, Torbrook; his sister, Jeanette MacLaren, Charlottetown; his brother, Gordon (Wendy) MacDonald, Lawrencetown; grandchildren Katherine, Rebecca, Robert, Brittany, Derrick, Jordan, Brooke, Ellen, Breanna and Mitchell and great grandson Luke. Bob loved life and everything in it, he enjoyed darts, pool, cards, bowling, singing, dancing, hunting and fishing. Of his most prized possessions were his grandchildren and his great grandson. Bob will always be remembered as a kind generous and compassionate friend. A special thank you to all of those who worked so hard to provide the special care he received throughout the past years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 3:00PM Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in the Nictaux United Baptist Church with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Private family interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery. A reception for family & friends will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Nictaux United Baptist Church, ALS Society of Nova Scotia or to the charity of your choice.
