Obituary

FREEMAN, Robie Whyburn 86 of Kingston, NS passed away Friday, September 2, 2011in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Kingston, he was a son of the late Banford and Rita (England) Freeman. Robie served overseas in the Canadian Army with the Three Rivers Regiment during the Second World War and later retired from the R.C.A.F. after 30 years of service. He was a member of Branch #98 Royal Canadian Legion, Kingston. Robie was a Jack of All Trades as well as being an avid golfer and baseball and hockey enthusiast. He is survived by daughter Cheryl (Richard) West, Sioux Lookout, Ont. Sons Darrell, Kingston and David, Greenwood. Sisters Barbara Acker, Middleton, Florence (Elthan) Acker, Kingston and Maxine (Joseph) MacDonald, Kentville and a brother Donald (Jocelyn) Freeman, Nictaux, also 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife the former Maxine Dixon, brothers Earl and Ralph. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in the North Kingston Public Cemetery, Rev. Charles Bull officiating. By request, family flowers only.
