Slauenwhite, Rodney David - Age 76 of Kingston, formerly of Lawrencetown, passed away peacefully at home on October 31st, 2023. Rod was born on September 23, 1947, in Middleton and was the son of the late Merel and Olive (Hudgins) Slauenwhite.

Rod was a Graduate of Acadia University. He was employed for 30 years at the Department of Transportation as a Survey Technician. After retirement he worked for several years at Bruce auto group. He was a retired member of the Lawrencetown Volunteer Fire Department for 38 years. Rod loved bowling, golfing, and spending time in the woods with friends hunting and fishing.

He loved his family and was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. Survived by his wife, of 54 years Sharon; son, Martin of Truro and daughter, Lori of Moncton; 3 grandchildren who he loved dearly; Evan, Emily and Mya; sisters, Carole (Doug) Joudrey, Catherine (Richard) Nowe, and Pamela Slaughenwhite; sisters-in-law, Doreen (Tom) St.Onge, Heather (David) Steadman; brothers-in-law, Eric (Susan) Balcome, Terrance (Joan) Balcome, Blair (Connie) Balcome, Norman (Sandy) Balcome; several nieces and nephews and many very special friends. Rod came to love the health care team, Dr Saxon, Von Nurses, and Home Care support during his final days.

By Rod's request cremation has taken place. You are invited to come and share a time of fellowship and refreshments with the family from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2023, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free: 1-855-825-3448. A private family interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown.
