Obituary

NORMAN, Roger Ivan - 64, of Kingston, NS passed away Monday, May 13, 2013. Born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, son of the late Peter Ivan and Edith Grace (Balkwill) Norman. Roger retired after 27 years from the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Physical Education Recreation & Instructor (PERI), then working for 16 years with Totem Building Supplies, Calgary. He volunteered with the Western Kings Arena in Kingston and with the Upper Room Food Bank. Roger loved woodworking, running and playing hockey. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Diane (formerly Bond); sons, Ken Norman (Nathalie Fournier) of Ottawa, ON, and Craig Norman of Toronto, ON; brothers, Laurie Norman of Weyburn, SK, and Murray (Heidi) Norman of Thunder Bay, ON; brother-in-law, Les Carroll of Francis, SK and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his sister Joyce Carroll. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, May 18, 2013 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Deacon Don Boudreau and Sharon Simoneau officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Donations in Roger's memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
