Obituary

BAILEY, Ronald William - age 86 of Greenwood, NS passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, NS. Born in Bridgewater, NS he was a son of the late William and May (Knox) Bailey. Ronald retired July 16, 1985 from the Royal Canadian Air Force having obtained the rank of Captain. During his military career he was a drummer for various Air Force bands and was past manager of CFB Social Centre. Ronald was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kingston Branch No. 98, past member of Berwick Lions Club, involved with Crime Stoppers and was an avid golfer, which was his true passion. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing hockey, curling, hunting and fishing. Ronald loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Clarie) Misner, Centreville; Marilyn (Brian) Cunningham, Kelowna, BC; his sons, Terry (Janet), St. Catharines, ON; Steve, Courtenay, BC; Richard, Kelowna, BC; his sisters, Diane, British Columbia; Barbara and Dorothy, both of Ontario; grandchildren Adam, Matt, Angela, Taylor, Patrick, Kendra, Sarah, Brittany, Danielle, Amy, Dante, Stevi and great grandchildren Aiken, Cleo, Tristan, Tayven and Oliver. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife the former Joyce Clarke; brother George and sisters Mona and Mary. In keeping with Ronald's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Legion tribute will be held 11:00AM Monday, July 31, 2017 in Royal Canadian Legion, Kingston Branch No. 98, 1472 Veterans Lane, Kingston. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to Mountain Lea Lodge Recreation Fund, Alzheimer Society Nova Scotia or charity of choice. The family wished to extend a special thank you too all the staff at Mountain Lea Lodge for their care and compassion and a heartfelt thank you to Rhonda and her daughter Laura for their companionship to Dad and making his last years meaningful and full of joy.
