CARTY, Ronald Thomas "Ron" ~ Age 82, of Berwick, formerly of Somerset, Kings Co., passed away peacefully in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, on Monday, May 9, 2022. Born in Sandy Cove, Digby Co., he was a son of the late Ellsworth W. and Amelia S. (O'Neil) Carty. Ronald lived most of his life in Somerset and was employed at Berwick Bakery for 39 years.  He was predeceased by his wife the former Cora Smith; brothers, Scott and Seymore Carty. Surviving are sons, Terry (Joann) Carty, Harbourville; Murray Carty, Waterville; Rodney Balsor (Jill), Coldbrook; Curtis (Wilma) Carty New Minas; as well as eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Alvin (Debbie) Carty, Centreville, Digby Co.; Lorne (Sharon) Carty, Prescott, Ont.; sisters, Elaine (Phil) Belliveau, Calgary, Alta; Louise (the late Ashton) Lewis, Digby; several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will take place 1 p.m., Monday, May 16, in Berwick Baptist Church, 265 Commercial St., Berwick. Pastor Andrew Conrad officiating, with interment in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Department.
