Obituary

JOHNSON, Ronald Cyril James -74, of Middleton, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2010 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Roy and Pearl Johnson. Ron loved his children and grandchildren with quiet gentleness. He had three children but lived as father to many. Rons time was spent in the service of those in need of support and encouragement in lifes journey. He had a real compassionate heart and worked to prepare them for independence. In the latter years he and his Crew ran the Memory Lane Railway Station with great devotion and pride. He is survived by wife the former Emilie White-Mallia; son, James (Susan); daughter, Cathy (Feridun) Hamdullahpur; son, John (Karen); grandchildren, Brian and Kevin Hamdullahpur, Chad, Ainsley and Erin Johnson and Ronnie, Daniel and Matthew Johnson; step-children, Catherine Mallia, Patricia (Malcolm) Mallia-Leitch; Michael (Shauna) Mallia; step-grandchildren, Ian, David and Andrea Leitch and Sean and Patrick Mallia. Ron was predeceased by his first wife, Jane Billot. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM,Friday, September 17, 2010 in the Memory Lane Railway Museum, 61 School Street, Middleton, Pastor Danny Smith officiating. By request, family flowers only.
