Obituary

LASSETER, Ronald William ~ age 81 of Wilmot, NS, passed away on Sunday August 8, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Sudbury, Ontario he was a son of the late Claude and Dorothy (Uhlman) Lasseter. Ron grew up at Limberlost Lodge outside of Huntsville, Ontario where he was a certified Ontario trail guide, taught waterskiing and horseback riding and competitively skied and barrel raced. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1960 and went on to have a 35-year career as a tach navigator achieving the rare milestone of one full year in the air. Ronald was an active member of the Kingston Lions Club for 29 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Aleah (Wood) of 58 years; daughter, Tiana (Dave) Marston, Wilmot; daughter-in-law, Tara (Wayne) Lasseter; grandchildren, Travis (Morgan) Hall; Briana (Mark) Gregson; Shayna Hall; Kyle (Becca) Lasseter; sister, Karen Baird; brother, Keith Badgley; brother-in-law, Paul Fleming; sister-in-law, Blanche Lasseter, several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by son, Robert; brothers, Ken and Keane; sister-in-law, June Fleming; mother-in-law, Jean Wood. In keeping with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Lion's service, followed by a Celebration of Life will be held Friday August 13, 2021, at 2 p.m. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, masking, social distancing and hand sanitizing are required. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Soldiers Memorial TCU for their care, support and thoughtful compassion. Family flowers only.
