LISTER, Ronald Alvin ~ With great sadness, the family of Ronald Alvin Lister of Lawrencetown announce his passing at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS on January 20, 2020 at the age of 87 years. Ron was born in York Mills, NB on January 4, 1933 and spent his early years in Kentville, NS graduating from Kings County Academy. He started his career with the Dominion Atlantic Railway before becoming the accountant at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton, NS retiring after 23 years. He was the son of the late Myles and Emma (Gass) Lister. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years Lois, his sons Dan (Betty) of Melanson and Randy (Gaynor) of Ottawa and his precious granddaughter Charlotte of Ottawa. He is also survived by his brother Wayne (Jean) and several nieces and nephews. He was an avid gardener and loved to spend his days shooting his age at his "special place", the Eden Golf and Country Club. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend to all who knew him. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Timothy Benstead, Dr. Paul MacLean and the health care professionals at the QEII, Valley Regional and Soldiers Memorial Hospitals who took such exceptional care of him. In keeping with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no memorial service. A visitation will be held at the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 on Friday, January 24 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm. Private family interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown.
