Obituary

MURPHY, Ronald Alfred – Age 81, of Aylesford East, Kings Co., passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018, in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Aylesford, he was a son of the late William R. Murphy and Phyllis V. Murphy (Joudrey). Ronnie spent his life devoted to his family. He was an avid outdoorsman, who spent the majority of his life hunting, fishing and participating in archery with his brother, Bill (William). Ronnie was a well-known member in the Archery Community through many clubs and organizations across the province and earned the name of one of the 'Aylesford Aces'. He was the Jack-of-All-Trades and was most well known for being a mechanic at the Berwick Bakery for many years. Ronnie's family will always remember his jokes and sense of humor, which he has passed on to his grandchildren, Megan, Adam and Kelsey. He and family are extremely appreciative for brother/uncle Bill who spent his whole life by Ronnie's side, from fishing and hunting trips, right until the time of his passing. The family will always remember the love and hardwork that Ronnie has instilled in his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his siblings, Margie (Richard) Foster and Judy Gill, both of Aylesford; R. Gail Pineo, Dartmouth; G. Doreene Robar, Bridgewater; Rosemary (Eugene) Dykens, Bill (William) Murphy, and Joy (Danny) Herbert, all of Aylesford; daughters, Pamela "Pam" (Tim) Peddle, Norman's Cove, Nfld.; Violet (Woody Piercey) Murphy, Grand Prairie, Alta.; Audrey (Jamie) Cochrane, Aylesford, NS;  grandchildren, Megan Keddy, Adam Bent, Kelsey (Kyran) Pennell, Jasmine Fredericks, Sarah (Nick) Varner and Brad (Mitch) Amero; great-grandchildren, Amber, Jaxon, Jonas and a fourth on the way, Ethan, Shayla, Dallas and Landyn; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by wife, the former Sharon D. Robar; sisters, Bette Taylor and Jennie (Jeanette) Hehn; and great-grandson, Ayden. A celebration of life will take place at Aylesford East Community Hall, 3157 Hwy No. 1, Aylesford East, on Saturday, October 6 from 1 pm to 6 pm. At his request, Ronnie wanted music played, so feel free to bring an instrument if you play.
