HILL, Ronald Reuben Joseph, W/O Ret'd – 73, of Auburn, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015, at home. Born in St. Lambert, QC, he was the eldest son of the late Reuben and Florence (Fox) Hill of Ottawa, ON, and the stepson of the late James Carpenter of Lachute, QC. Ron served 29 ½ years in the Royal Canadian Air Force, retiring as a Warrant Officer. Later, he worked for 14 SE Squadron for 22 ½ years before fully retiring in 2011. Ron's passions were volunteering at the Greenwood Military Aviation Museum (where he also served on the Board of Directors), his beloved cats, and keeping busy. He is survived by his much-loved and ever-patient wife, Donna; his brother, Lee Hill, Pascoag, Rhode Island, USA; his son, Ronald Hill, Elrose SK: his daughters: Leah Brown (née Churchill), Whitby, ON; Shelley Harnish (née Churchill), Berwick, NS; Cpl Angela Churchill, Kingston, ON; his grandchildren: David Hill, BC; Jordan Harnish, ON; Shaye Lynne Harnish, BC; Brandon Scott, ON; Katherine Brown, ON; Isaac Brown, ON; as well as numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his infant sister Mary (died at birth, 1941), and his brothers John (Jake) hill, St Lambert, QC, and Robert Carpenter, Montreal, Qc. Ron's earthly remains have been cremated so he may fly on the winds forever. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at 2:00 pm, at the VPI Lounge, 14 Wing Greenwood, followed by a reception. By request, family flowers only.
