Obituary

BEALS, Rosamond Maria "Rosie" - 87 of Bridgetown, formerly of Lawrencetown passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Lawrencetown, she was a daughter of the late Jason and Elva (Gaul) Lowe. Rosie was a member of the Lawrencetown United Baptist Church. She and her husband Carl owned and operated C.R. Beals Meats and Groceries for 42 years. Rosie loved to sew, knit and quilt and also loved working in her flower garden. She devoted her life to raising her family. She is survived by daughters, Nancy (Bob) Gesner; Madelyn (Sandy) McLain, both of Lawrencetown and Karen (Rod) Fraser, Porters Lake; son, William Bill (Donna) Beals, South Williamston; sisters, Audrey (Don) MacQuarrie, Middleton and Dorothy Lowe, Halifax; brother, Claude (Marion) Lowe, Lawrencetown; grandchildren; Craig (Karen) Gesner, Calgary; Trina (Simon) Roberts, Cole Harbour, NS; Jamie (Lori) McLain, Banff; Shawn (Angie) McLain, Cold Lake, AB; Megan (Leigh) Durland, Calgary; Marcy Fraser, Porters Lake, NS; Josh, Alex and Abby Beals all of South Williamston; great grandchildren, Adrienne Gesner; Ally and Kalie Roberts, Addison Durland and Haley McLain and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carl; sisters, Lorraine Stillwell, Faye Crowell, Leila Merry; brothers, Arthur and half sisters, Elva East and Bernice Naugler. By Rosies request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 7-9PM Monday, May 16, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. A memorial service will be held 11:00AM, Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in the Lawrencetown United Baptist Church, Pastor Patty Beals officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown. By request, family flowers only. Donations in Rosies memory may be made to Lawrencetown United Baptist Church, Fairview Cemetery, Mountain Lea Lodge or a Charity of Choice.
