HAYES, Ross Blair ~ age 77 of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at home. Born in Weymouth, he was the son of the late Charles and Jennie (Weaver) Hayes. Ross moved to Ontario in 1963. He was first employed with Coca-Cola, and then was a transport truck driver, later retiring from General Motors after 16 years. He was a member of the Jerusalem 31 Masonic Lodge in Bowmanville, ON and later became an affiliate member of the Weymouth United Masonic Lodge. Ross will be deeply missed by his wife of 57 years, Alma (Cosman); children, Roline (Brian) Powers; Paula Hayes (Nick Swain); Don (Cheryl) Hayes; grandchildren, Alanna Powers (Cathy Anderson); Sarah Powers; Kristen Hayes; Jennifer Hayes (Justin Boudreau);  Toni Junkin (Scott Ellerington); Taylor Junkin (Josh Drummond); great grandchildren, Jack Powers, Marlie Powers, Leigha Drummond and Kali Drummond; siblings, Dorothy (Hugh, deceased) Robson; Mike (Kitty, deceased) Hayes; Connie (James, deceased) Blinn; Ruth (Bob) Smith; Marion (John, deceased) Fowler. Linda Cosman (sister-in -law) Ward Cosman (brother-in-law).Besides his parents, Ross was predeceased by siblings, Viola (Bill) Nickerson; Hilda (Victor) Nickerson; Edythe (John) Brandrick; Jenny Doucette; David (Margaret) Hayes; mother and father-in-law, Russell and June Cosman. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at Church of Christ, Weymouth with interment in Church of Christ Cemetery, Weymouth at a later date. By request, family flowers only.
