Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Roy and son-in-law Christopher Graham. He grew up in Lawrencetown, Annapolis County, the eldest child of the late Gordon and Jennie Beals. Roy was a very skilled carpenter and worked very hard his whole life. He supervised the construction of many buildings throughout Nova Scotia finishing his carpentry career at 14 Wing CFB Greenwood in the CE section. Roy had many hobbies. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He went on many hunting expeditions and fishing trips. He was a former member of the Maritime Gun Collectors Association. Roy was a genuine family man who loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was always willing to teach and mentor them. Roy had a den for his collections. This was a special place for everyone to gather. A place we talked, shared stories, and felt truly loved. Roy was a gifted and creative artist who crafted many amazing items that family and many friends still cherish today. He was well loved and respected by everyone he met and we will all miss him dearly. The family would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Mountain Lea Lodge for all the love and care they gave to Roy during his time there. With respect to the current and ongoing concern with the Covid-19 pandemic and to keep everyone safe, the family has chosen to have a Celebration of Roy's Life at a later date. Interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown.
