August 8, 1940 – January 31, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Wilfred Henderson, age 77 of Aylesford, NS. Born in Wolfville, on August 8, 1940, he was a son of the late Frank Milford Henderson and Edith Mary (Harper) Henderson. Roy was a journeyman plumber by trade. He had a great love of playing and listening to fiddle music. He will be remembered for helping others, his wit, sense of humor and outspoken ways. He was a true Renaissance man. He will be sadly missed. "Life is in a second, time is you." He is survived by his wife Stella Noreen (Atwell), his children: Joanne (John), Roxane, Bonnie (Jason), son Ira, Yvonne (Blaine), Abigail (Christian), eight grandchildren: Nicholas, Ryan, Hailie, Cassandra, Chelsey, Scot, Gabrielle and Sophie. They loved their "Poppy Roy". Sisters; Ethyle, Faye and Cheryl. He was predeceased by sisters; Catherine, Barbara and brother Edward. By request cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A family memorial to take place at a later date. Donations in Roy's memory can be made to a charity of choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Amanda Smith and nursing staff at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. 902-825-3448.
