CHUTE, Royce Lyman "Roy" passed away on May 15, 2014 at his Grass Valley, California home. Born October 1, 1927 in Little River, Digby County to Rev. Clarence and Jean (Richardson) Chute. Royce is survived by his wife June; brothers, Earl, Middleton, NS and Glenn (Laureen), Fort McLeod, Alberta and sisters, Jean Byers (Neil), Peachland, British Columbia and Joyce (Bill) Graham, Peterborough, Ontario and numerous nieces and nephews. His wife Bonnie and sister-in-law Edith predeceased him. Early teen years were spent in Caledonia, Queens County and at 17 he took advantage of his dual citizenship and moved to Middleboro and Boston, Mass. He worked as an electrician's assistant at the YMCA while earning his Industrial Electrical Engineering credentials in college. In his search for Utopia he settled in California, working out of Oakland and was employed at the US Airforce base in Alameda. His work and leisure took him to every state in the USA and every province in Canada and many other global locations. A very social and memorable character, he traveled North America many times and many routes meeting family and making friends wherever he went. Royce maintained many Nova Scotia connections throughout his fulfilling life.
