Covert, Ruby Louise – Age 83 of East Kingston, formerly of Nictaux, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 23, 2021 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.  Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Hope (Forsythe) Spicer. Ruby was known as always smiling or laughing, a warm easy-going woman who was immensely talented, mastering everything she tried. She was the picture of calm contentment and that is how she'll be remembered by all that knew her. She enjoyed cooking for her family & friends, gardening, cross-stitching and painting. She is survived by daughters, Gail (Robert) Durling, Nictaux, Paula (Dennis Gladue) Covert, Corona California, Donna (Christopher) Markiewitz, Bridgetown; sons, James (Sandy), Bridgewater, Daniel (Christine), Bridgewater, Alan (Jeff Lewis), Halifax, grandchildren, Nancy (Tony Tracey), Owen & Loren; step grandchildren, Christopher & Jennifer, Robert & Jennifer, 10 great grandchildren, sisters, Maryann (Mike) Doyle, Ontario, Betty (Larry) Sabean, Nictaux; brother, Robert (Judy) Spicer, Cambridge. Besides her parents, Ruby was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Covert; grandson, Stephen; sisters, Lillian & Alice. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Paradise Cemetery. Reverend Barbara Bishop officiating.
