DURLING, Russell Glennwood- 87 of Port Lorne passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Springfield, he was a son of the late Herbert Lloyd and Dorothy Louise (Saltzman) Durling. Russell served in the Canadian Army from 1939 to 1945. He was a retired groundskeeper for the Eden Golf and Country Club, Paradise. Russell received a great deal of enjoyment being in the outdoors and on his hobby farm raising his oxen. He is survived by sons, Russell Jr. and Ernest, both of Port Lorne and Edward (Pam Inglis) Kingston; granddaughters, Kimberley Durling (Seldon Little), Forest Glade and Jennifer (Dave) Millar, Kingston; brothers, Douglas (Agnes) Durling, Halifax; Emery Durling and Basil (Helen) Durling, both of Springfield; James (Betty) Durling, Falkland Ridge and Charles (Alice) Durling, Barss Corner Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Frances Hatt and son, Carroll. Cremation has taken place. By request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM, Saturday, January 26, 2013 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 with Pastor Heather Pearle Gillis officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in Fundy View Cemetery, Port Lorne at a later date.
