ARMSTRONG (Morris), Ruth Emelie ~ age 83, of Melvern Square, Annapolis Co., N.S., passed away suddenly on Friday, December 26, 2025, at home. Born on July 30, 1942, in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late P. Donald and Norene J. (Woodworth) Morris.
Ruth was a graduate of the Provincial Normal College in Truro. She had taught school in Margaretsville, Middleton, Kingston Bible College, Calvary Baptist Church and was involved with Sunday School and the Bible Club. In recent years, Ruth had attended Charity Baptist Church and had a strong faith in her Lord and Saviour. She often sacrificed herself, leaving her professional life on many occasions to care for the needs of her family members. Ruth was a very sociable person, who loved to talk to people in person and on the phone, wanting to keep up with the lives of others.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 10 years, William G. "Bill" Armstrong; sister, Donna (Rick) Pineo, of Welsford; step children, Rue (Angela) Armstrong, Middleton; Richard (Megan) Armstrong, Melvern Square; Beth (Steven) Gallant, Moncton, New Brunswick; Josh Armstrong, Quispamsis, New Brunswick; nieces, Dorothy (Darren) Jones, Emelie (Matthew) Sponagle; and nephew, Donald (Meghan) Pineo; several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2026, in Charity Baptist Church, 1836 Torbrook Road, Meadowvale, with a reception to follow in the church. Rev. Warren Jones and Rev. Robert Jones officiating. Interment will be in North Kingston Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to Charity Baptist Church or to your favourite charity.
