Benson, Ruth Lillian – 89, Middleton, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Center, Middleton. Born in Vancouver, BC, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn and Walter Greer. Ruth loved to garden and would spend her summer tending her gardens. Her other passion was animals, she loved all animals.  She was the entertainment for the staff at the Heart of the valley and will be missed. Surviving are her daughter, Diane Boyce, Spencerville, ON; son, Stephen McElwee, Quenel, BC; daughter-in-law Terry McElwee, Wilmot, NS; her grandchildren, Donny (Melanie), Arlene (Shannon) Nicol, Shane, Amy, and James; her great grandchildren, Shea, Kaleena, Kelsey, Myles, and her great great grandchild Aubree. She was predeceased by her husband Benjamin and her son Douglas McElwee. There will be no service at this time. Donations in memory may be made to the SPCA, Kings County.
