The family of Ruth Luane Bent sadly announces her passing on March 23, 2025, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.

Daughter of the late Sam and Rhoda (Slocomb) Bent, Ruth was born January 23, 1942, in Middleton, Annapolis Co. Nova Scotia

Ruth graduated from Acadia University with a B.Ed, Class of 1966. She taught for a few years in Ontario. In 1969, she accepted a position with the

Dept. of National Defense as an English Language Instructor in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, where she stayed until her retirement. The school

is now called Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School. Ruth was a highly regarded instructor during her time at the school.

Above all, Ruth loved her dogs, they were her friends and her family. The loves of her life, Caprice, Tache, Dayna, and Ocean (Ochie) will once again be altogether with their Mum.

Ruth had a great passion for horses and enjoyed riding in her younger years. Truth be known, she preferred four legged creatures over two legged. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, and brothers, Donald and Perley.

Survived by sister Rhoda (Matthew) Pembleton and brother Terry (Susan)Bent, all of Lawrencetown.

Nieces and nephews : Donna, David, Joy, Graham, Lynn, Brian, Stephen, and John. Sister-in-laws : Shirley M. Bent and Shirley E. Bent, both of Lawrencetown. By Ruth's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown, NS, resting beside her father.
