WILKINS, Ruth Vanessa ~ Our mother, age 92, left us on January 11, 2020 while a resident at Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre, Middleton. She grew up in North Kingston, one of four children of the late James and Marion (McGee) Foster. Mom worked side by side with Dad at the greenhouse business and vegetable farming and sold rhubarb at roadside. Mom was an active member of the Women's Institute and Kingston United Church. Sewing, crocheting, quilting, baking and playing cards with Hope and Doug were activities that filled her spare time. Her hands were always busy. Mom loved the babies and loved to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren come for a visit. She never lost her touch with children. Surviving family are daughters, Carolyn (Vaughn) FitzGerald, The Villages, Florida; Marsha Wilkins (Brian Connell), Bridgetown; Norma (Bob) Bent, Wilmot; June (George) Reagh, Middleton; grandchildren, Alison (Chris) FitzGerald, Ottawa; Ryan (Sue) FitzGerald, Winnipeg, MB; Scott (Lisa) Neville, BC; Jennifer Theriault (James) , Clare, NS; Andrew Bent, Wilmot; Andrea Bent (Joe), Victoria, BC; Tasha Terauds (Matthew), Halifax and Sarah Allen (Rupert), Ottawa, ON; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Hope Keddy, North Kingston; sister-in-law, Delma Taylor, Grand View Manor, Berwick; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Elvin; brother, Vaughan Foster and sister, Ardythe Veinotte. We will miss you mom, you will forever be in our hearts. A joint memorial service will be held for Ruth and Elvin at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2020 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. toll free 1-855-825-3448 with Rev. Dr. Christine Marie Gladu officiating. Interment will be in the Wiswall Cemetery, Wilmot. Donations in memory may be made to Kingston United Church or to a charity of choice.
