Obituary

CORKUM, Sylvia "Alice" – 83, of Kingston, passed away Friday November 15, 2019 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Longueuil, QC she was a daughter of the late Frank and Irene (Crochemore) Wormald. Alice had a green-thumb and her yard was chock full of beautiful flowers and bushes. She was proud of her 40 year old magnolia tree and people often stopped to admire its glorious pink blossoms. She enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, knitting, sewing, cross-stitch and ceramics. In her younger years, she paddled war canoe and later played on darts and bowling teams. She was known to many in the area as "Mike's Mom". She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Alice is survived by her husband, Bruce Corkum; son, Michael; daughters, Theresa (late Scott), and Shelley (Glen) Boates, all of Kingston; grandchildren, Tom, Hayley and Teri and three nephews and one niece. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Charlie, Edward and Hilda. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 23, 2019 at 2p.m. at Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., Middleton 902-825-3448. Reverend Canon Ken Vaughan officiating. Interment will take place in North Kingston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.
