It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our sweet mother Sandra Calder (nee Duffe) who passed peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2023 surrounded by her family following a brief and courageous battle with cancer.  Sandra was lovingly cared for by her children during her brief illness.

Sandra was predeceased by her parents Althea and Earl Duffe, her soulmate and husband of 55 years Hugh (Chuck), survived by her daughters Lisa (Peter), Susan (Mike), Jennifer (Mike), her sister Jane (John) and her grandchildren, Kailey, Chloe, Avery, and Hayley, and other extended family members.  She will be missed greatly by those who loved her.

A quiet, caring, and strong military wife who selflessly took care of her three girls and the household while her husband was away for extended work leave.  Always there to quietly support family and friends, Sandra was intelligent, enjoyed lengthy conversations with close friends, loved chocolate, rummoli games, dogs, trips south with friends, and volunteering for different organizations including the Lionettes, Girl Guides, and other non-profits. Sandra was proud of her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their respective interests and valued her family and friendships.

Thank you to the many health care providers and neighbourhood friends who were supportive during this difficult time.

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 ^nd , 2023, with a reception to follow in Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., Middleton toll free: 1-855-825-3448. Father Michael Walsh officiating. The service will be livestreamed and available to watch beginning at 1:55 p.m. ADT by going to the funeral home's website and choosing the "Live Stream" option. Interment will take place at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa in the summer.
