Sandra McCormick ~ Age 84, of North Kingston, Kings Co., N.S., passed away at home on Monday, June 15th, 2026. Born in Aylesford on Feb 3rd, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Charles “Bill” and Bessie (Baltzer) Bowlby. Sandra attended West Kings District High School and then worked as a telephone operator in Aylesford where she met Bill McCormick the love of her life. After their marriage they moved to Crofton on Vancouver Island and proceeded to raise their family.
From her children:
We had incredible parents that showed nothing but love to us. Our mom was the most selfless person that we know. She would do absolutely anything for anyone, almost to a fault. She was so strong, they both were very hardworking people, just to give their kids a better life. They made certain that we had the absolute best Christmas' ever. To this day we don't know how our mom gave unconditional love to everyone, we so admired her tendencies to forgive people. She was an incredibly giving soul. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Special thanks to Uncle Skip and Aunt Dorothy for the care you provided to mom, We love you mom Darlene, Gerald and Greg.
Following the death of her husband Bill, Sandra returned to Nova Scotia to live with her brother and sister-in-law, Skip and Wanda.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Keppler (Doug), Medicine Hat; sons, Gerald, Wainwright and Greg, Calgary; grandchildren, David, Derrick, Troy Amy and Ally; great grandson, Noah; sister, Dorothy (Tim); brothers, Wayne (Dilly), Skip, Kim (Gail) Shawn (Karla); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
