Freeman
January 8, 1964 – May 19, 2018
Scott Douglas Freeman - Jan 8th , 1964 – May 19th, 2018 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Douglas Freeman. Scott passed peacefully, at his sister's home in Berwick, with family at his side after a long struggle with cancer. Scott was born on Jan 8th, 1964 and was the youngest son of Ina Whitman (Freeman) and the late Perry Freeman. Scott grew up in Bear River East where he took an active role in the running of Beechtree Farm where the family raised purebred Herefords. After graduating from ARRA he attended NSAC in Truro. From there he worked in Bermuda for two years on a dairy farm and then moved to Alberta where he worked as a coil tubing technician for the oil industry for more than 25 years. His last place of employment was at a farm in Sexsmith, AB where he very much enjoyed working with cattle again. Scott returned to Nova Scotia to spend his last days surrounded by family where he was lovingly cared for by his mother and two sisters. He is survived by two children; Emily (Lethbridge) and Willis (Edmonton); mother, Ina (Frank) Whitman, Lawrencetown; two sisters Jackie (Eric) Bent, Berwick and Debbie, Coldbrook; two brothers Leigh (Carol), Bear River East; and Roger (Gail), Elk Point, AB, and six nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved father Perry Freeman. The family wishes to extend deepest appreciation to Dr. Michelle Saxon and Dr Lori Burgess and her palliative care team for their compassionate and competent care of both Scott and his family caregivers. There will be no visitation. Scott will be laid to rest beside his father in the Clementsvale Cemetery where a private family service will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902 825-3448. An online guest book may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
