Obituary

HAYNES, Sheila Ann ~ age 71 of Middleton, NS passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville surrounded by her loving family. Born in Digby, NS she was a daughter of the late Delmar and Audrey (Haight) Frost. Sheila was a Master Hairdresser and owned and operated Salon Sheila Ann in Middleton for 53 years. She was a member of the Middleton Baptist Church and devoted her free time to volunteerism. Sheila was a Life Member of various community groups including, the Muriel Bent Atlantic Baptist Women where she was treasurer for many years; Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, where she was secretary and treasurer; co-chair of the Western Region Hospital Auxiliary; IODE Rosemary and Mary Lawson Chapters, and IODE Provincial Chapter. Sheila was a recipient of the Provincial Representative Volunteer of the Year Award.

Sheila enjoyed detailed hobbies including knitting, crocheting, and needle point. Her business and home were filled with her beloved plants and flowers that she grew and would give away. In her younger years, she enjoyed travelling to New England and loved camping in Smith's Cove. Sheila will be missed and loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Robert; son, Justin (Maya Ranvig), Windsor; sister, Shelley Reycraft, Middleton; nephew, Christopher Reycraft (Zoshia Fraser), Amherst; stepson, Anthony (Jolie) Wright, Alberta; and step-grandchildren Stephen and Jared. She was predeceased by her parents, Delmar and Audrey (Haight) Frost and Dad, Norman Buckler.

In keeping with Sheila's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM November 16th, in Middleton Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Danny Smith officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. Donations in memory may be made to Diabetes Canada, Arthritis Society of Nova Scotia, Valley Regional Hospital Foundation, or Middleton Baptist Church.
