PINEO, Sheldon Burtrum - age 88 of Dartmouth, NS formerly of Bridgetown, NS passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Scots Bay, NS he was a son of the late Lewis and Fannie (Benjamin) Pineo. Sheldon served with the Canadian Armed Forces from 1944-1947. He also served with the Metropolitan Toronto Police as a police officer and later retiring as a funeral director working for many years with the Robert L. Hall Funeral Home. Sheldon was a talented artist and in his spare time loved woodworking, engraving, painting and sketching. He is survived by his wife the former Eileen Garnett, Dartmouth; his daughters, Darlene Gale, Strathroy, ON; Tanya (Ryan) Pineo-Koskela, Nanoose Bay, BC; Leah (Chris) Wade, Kirkland, Washington; his step-children, Wendy (Mark) Colwill; Kathy (Gary) Starratt; Dean Garnett; his brother, Bradford Pineo, Middleton and several grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Harold and Murray. In keeping with Sheldon's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 11:00AM Friday, November 14, 2014 in the Wiswall Cemetery, Wilmot with Rev. Leon Langille officiating.
