Shelly Lynne
Strong
April 24, 1965 – December 3, 2025
STRONG (Perry), Shelly Lynne ~ Age 60, of Grafton, Kings Co., Nova Scotia, passed away on December 3rd, 2025. She is deeply missed by her family, friends, and community. Shelly married Carl "Tim" Strong on October 10th, 1989; their lives were shared together for over 40 years. Together they had two daughters, Tamara and Taylor. With a love and passion for food and feeding others, she studied cooking and meat cutting before her nearly 30 years of employment with Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre in Waterville. During her working years she owned and ran a restaurant and spent summers farming high bush blueberries. Always giving back to the community was near and dear to her heart, especially to those experiencing challenges with homelessness. Throughout her life, notably during her retirement years, she volunteered and donated to many organizations across the Annapolis Valley. Her love of sunshine and warm weather took her to countless tropical destinations around the world where she made long-lasting friendships and helped those in need as much as she could. Shelly's kindness and generosity had no borders; she made friends easily and could strike up a conversation with anyone. In her free time, she loved playing bingo, particularly taking bingo trips, spending weekends camping at the lake with her fur babies "Titan, Dolly, and Bluebelle", and having barbecues or "weenie roasts at the shore". Shelly is survived by her husband, Carl "Tim" Strong; daughters, Tamara (Donald King) Strong and Taylor (Zachary Trefry) Strong; mother, Sandra Perry (Young); and twin sister, Shannon (David) Simpson. She was predeceased by her father, W.O. Donald Perry; grandparents, Donald and Edith (Joudrey) Perry, and Bill and Betty (Innis) Young. A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m . (with reflections and memories at 3:00 p.m.) on Sunday, February 22, in Grafton Hall, 5350 Brooklyn Street, Grafton.
