Obituary

MARSHALL, Sherwood Leslie - 92, of Danvers, Digby Co., passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at home. Born in Danvers, he was a son of the late Lessa and Lillian (Lewis) Marshall. Sherwood was a veteran of the Second World War having served with the Princess Louise Fusiliers in Italy and Northwest Europe. After the war, he returned home and became self-employed working in both trucking and forestry industries. Sherwood was a long serving Elder and member of the Southville Church of Christ and a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Weymouth Branch. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors and a true Canadian hockey fan. Sherwood was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He loved his family and his church. Sherwood was a very giving, kind person and never complained. He kept us entertained with his dry sense of humour. Reggie "Chippy", (Josh's dog) will miss you! We love you and miss you already! He is survived by his children, Gary (Judi) Marshall, Danvers; Mark (Brenda) Marshall, South Range; Bonnie Wedlake, Halifax; grandchildren, Tammy Marshall (Kirk), Danvers; Ryan Marshall (Josette), St. Bernard; Kara (Stephen) Gilliatt, Hillgrove; Kasha (Nick) Wilson, Digby; Josh Wedlake, Red Deer, AB and Karmen Wedlake, Halifax and great grandchildren Katherine and Daniel Gilliatt and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife the former June Fulton and brothers, Murray, Donald in infancy and Justin. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 7-9PM Friday, June 21, 2013 in the Southville Church of Christ where a memorial service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, June 22, 2013 with Trevor Sansom and Merle Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the Southville Cemetery. By request, family flowers only. Donations in Sherwood's memory may be made to the Southville Church of Christ or to charity of choice.
