Robinson, Shirlee Jane ~ It is with treasured memories in our hearts that the family of Shirlee Robinson announce her peaceful passing on Nov. 15th, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Charlottetown, PEI, on Nov. 24, 1928, she was the daughter of Elmer and Olive Dunning. Shirlee is survived by her devoted husband of 72 years, Duncan; daughters, Ann(Pat) Miskell, Arizona, Sally(Al) Macfarlane Halifax; sons, Peter(Beth) Robinson South Williamston, Kent(Shannon) Robinson, Wilmot. Blessed with eleven, much adored Grandchildren and nine beautiful Greatgrandchildren! She was predeceased by her sister, Roma Schaffner. Shirlee and Duncan were married while attending Acadia University, and went on to build their very full lives in Middleton. Shirlee contributed many years of service to the Soldier's Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, I.O.D.E., Hospital Board, all the while supporting her children's many activities throughout the years. Shirlee was a masterful Bridge player, enjoying weekly games for over forty years with her dear friends. She was a voracious reader and always had a good book at hand. Her elegance, strength and wit remained with her even as she coped with challenging health issues over the years. Mom's love was unconditional, and that is a gift we carry with us always. A sincere thank you to the caring staff at Orchard Villa who provided Shirlee with wonderful care, with a special thank you from our family to Alanna. "And time remembered is grief forgotten". A memorial service will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Paul Jennings officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of choice.
