Obituary

Crocker (Dillman), Shirley Irene - It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts we announce the passing of a dear mom, sister, grandmother and friend to all. Shirley Dillman, aged 75 of Middleton , Nova Scotia, passed away at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital on June, 8, 2022 after a long and valiant battle. Born in Carrolls Corner, Nova Scotia on Nov, 3, 1946, she was the daughter of Lester and Hazel Dillman (Preeper). Shirley was in her life always a mother first. Her 3 children were the most meaningful and important work of her life. She gave all, asked for nothing in return, loved completely and unconditionally and was ever consistent in her support and respect. In her years of employment, Shirley was a marvel of skill working various jobs from retail work to caring for the elderly. She had many talents/hobbies personally which included cooking, baking, sewing, puzzles, poetry, and her infectious and entertaining humor for all manner of subject matter. How she did enjoy making others laugh. She is survived by sons Steve Crocker (Darlene) of Ontario, Chris Crocker (Annette) of Middleton, and daughter Jo-Anne Jesso (Eddie) of Halifax. Sister Ruth Hatton of Truro, brothers Clarence, Jim and Gary Dillman all of Carrols Corner. Grandchildren Jessica Bailey of Dartmouth, Sarah .C. Jesso of Halifax, Jason, Anniah and Presley Crocker all of Middleton. Many nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Lester and Hazel Dillman, infant sister Ethel, and brothers Beldon and John Dillman.  Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at a later date for friends and family.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart/Lung Association or a charity of choice.  The online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
