DeMone, Shirley Bernice -76 of Greenwood passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville Tuesday, January 4, 2011. Born in White Fox, Saskatchewan on September 1, 1934, she was a daughter of the late John James and Kathleen (Morgan-Parkin) Allen. Shirley was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Her life revolved around her family, and she always thought of the needs of others before her own. She is survived by son, Ed (Cathy) DeMone, Halifax; daughters, Susan DeMone, Edmonton, AB and Doreen DeMone ( Kerry Clarke), Greenwood; grandchildren, Josh (Jodi) Strickland; Kurt DeMone; Derek DeMone; Chantal DeMone; Christa DeMone; Chelsea DeMone; Crystal (Marty) Tattersall; Stephanie Barteaux (Doug Armstrong); Kyle (Andrea) Barteaux; Rebekah and Sarah Clarke; great grandchildren, Liam, Taylor, Marissa, Chloe, Katelyn, Lauren, Kaycee, Aidan, Jayden and Emma; brothers, Robert and Lester Allen and sisters, Gladys Young; Maggie Clarke and Martha Evers. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Frank DeMone, sisters, Theresa Allen, Hilda Wildy and brothers, Malcolm Morgan, Stewart Morgan, Dave Allen and Sam Allen. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Thursday, January 6, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448, where the funeral service will be held 2:00PM, Friday, January 7, 2011 with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery. DeMone, Edwin Frank MWO Ret'd, born in Halifax, April 27, 1931 of Greenwood passed away peacefully December 29, 2009 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Edwin was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Giffin) DeMone. He served in the RCAF from 1949 – 1976. He was then employed in the Civil Service at 14 Wing Greenwood until retiring in 1994. Edwin was an avid golfer and was a member of the Greenwood Golf Club. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley B. DeMone (nee Allen). Son Ed (Cathy) DeMone, Halifax. Daughters, Susan DeMone, Edmonton, AB and Doreen DeMone (Kerry Clarke), Greenwood. Grandchildren, Josh (Jodi) Strickland, Crystal (Marty) Tattersall, Stephanie Barteaux (Kevin Ward), Derek DeMone, Kyle (Andrea) Barteaux, Kurt DeMone, Chantal DeMone, Christa DeMone and Chelsey DeMone. Great Grandchildren, Marissa, Kaycee, Liam, Aidan, Jayden, Taylor, Emma, Katelyn, Chloe and Lauren. Sister, Barbara (Gerald) Chase, Wolfville. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert DeMone. Cremation has taken place. At the request of Edwin, there will be no memorial service.
