KEDDY, Shirley Ann Elizabeth -83, of Meadowvale passed away May 8, 2023 at home. Born July 31, 1939, in Perth, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth (Walsh) and Harry Baker. She grew up and lived in Kingston, ON near her dear cousins Guy (Susan) Gammon, Connie (Mike) Villeneuve, and Debbie (Roger) Marshall. Shirley enjoyed the military life. She lived in Kingston, ON; Halifax, NS; Wickrath, Germany; Chibougamau, Quebec; Greenwood, NS; North Bay, ON; and Winnipeg, Man. She and Ed retired in Greenwood, NS and operated The Powerhouse in Wilmot for a number of years and retired again. Shirley loved her cat Princess and was always very involved in her community. Shirley worked at many professions in her life due to military postings and was active in the Greenwood Players, the Red Hatters, The Opportunity Shop, Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Auxilliary, and was a member of St. Mark's Church, Greenwood, NS. Surviving are daughter Cynthia Anne (Joe) Sloan, Aylesford Lake; grandchildren, Julie (Anjou) Wright, Jenny (Simon) Tsang, Joe (Lisa) Sloan Jr., and Joshua Hum; great-grandchildren, Bethany, Madison, Hanna, Summer, Josef and Nathaniel; god daughter, Cathy Hillier; sister-in-law Margaret Keddy; her nephew, Paul (Kelly) Keddy; nieces, Linda Holowatyj and Cathy (Ron) Leonard. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Morton Edward "Ed", daughter Donna, brother-in-law Allen Keddy, sisters-in-law, Winnifred and Brenda, and cousin, Scott Gammon. Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 1, 2023 in Tremont Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 98, Kingston. All are welcome. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448.
