McAndrew-Madaire, Shirley Eileen – 68, of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Ottawa, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Maureen (McGurn) McAndrew. Shirley worked for Statistics Canada in her younger years. She enjoyed volunteering with the Special Olympics and later worked as a receptionist at the gym. Shirley constantly worried about others, was kind to everyone, and loved to celebrate each and every holiday. She could even make Fridays a special event. Decorating and entertaining, Shirley made sure every holiday was celebrated whenever everyone was together, no matter the date on the calendar. Surviving are her husband Alex, Greenwood; sons Matthew, Ottawa; Scott (Eilleen), Edmonton; granddaughter Gabrielle "Gaby"; sisters Sharon Croteau, Ottawa; Sheila (Peter) Fergus, Lac Blue Sea, Quebec. A celebration of Shirley's life will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street 1-855-825-3448.
