Sears, Lynne Norman "Skip" – 78, of South Greenwood, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Edward and Margaret (Nickerson) Sears. Skip, as he was known, was a man of few words. He was a great listener and when he gave you "the look" you knew what he meant. Skip and Rita moved to South Greenwood in 1995 and Skip retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1996. Shopping was a great pastime for Skip. Surviving are his brothers Brian (Eileen), Summerside; Shawn (Sherry), Woods Harbour; Tim (Wendy), Truro; sisters Heddy LeBlanc, Cape Breton; Dottie Watson, Didsbury, AB; Laurey Porter, Victoria, BC; sister-in-law Selma Sears, Truro; Rita's children, Sharon, Doug, and Dan Grummish; half-sister, Gladys Reeves, Amherst; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Rita (Aubry); brother Jack; sister Margie; half-siblings Hudson, Teddy, and Jerry. In keeping with Skip's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. Donations in memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Alzheimers Society.
