St. Clair Westcott Corbin

Corbin, St. Clair Westcott – 95, of South Farmington passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Wilmot, he was a son of the late Lowell and Lillian (Hatt) Corbin.

Clair worked at AW Allen’s after working at McMaster’s Mill and a local creamery. His woodworking skills were second to none. Besides detailed carvings, he also built houses as well as acoustic guitars, violins, and mandolins. When not working with wood, he was a talented artist in oil painting and playing the instruments he built. He enjoyed riding his Goldwing motorcycle. Shirley and Clair enjoyed many years of camping together.

Surviving are his daughters, Donna (Victor) Pye, Halifax; Judy Corbin-Snelgrove, South Farmington; grandchildren, Michael (Cathy Tse) Strickland, Halifax; Laura (Brad) Northrup, Cole Harbour; great grandchildren, Ella Strickland, Bennett and Brooks Northrup; brother, Earl “Timmy” (Karen “Judy”) Corbin, Yarmouth.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (Lantz); sisters Ethel, Edna, and Daisy; brothers Donald, and Carl in infancy.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Middleton Funeral Home from where the Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5. Rev. Chris Wickins and Rev. Dr. Harry Gardner will be officiating. A reception will follow. Interment in Wiswall Cemetery, Wilmot.
