Obituary

BANKS, Stanley Olaf-63 of Greenwood passed away, Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Meadowvale, he was a son of Philip Banks, Meadowvale and the late Opal (Creemer) Banks. Stanley spent many years working in Norman Wells, NWT and later worked with Jordan's Welding for 24 years. He loved playing his guitar, banjo & mandolin with friends and enjoyed fishing & camping trips at Cloud Lake. He is survived by his father, Philip Banks, Meadowvale; daughter, Brittney Banks, Medicine Hat, AB; son, Brody Best, Meadowvale; sister, Susan (Robert) Ritcey, Torbrook Mines; brothers, Waldon (Joan) Banks, Meadowvale; Wayne (Velma) Banks and Morris Banks (Susan Luscombe), both of Duncan, BC; Close friends Mark & Cathy, Rob, Kerry, Dan, grandchildren Kayden and Natalie and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM, Friday, January 6, 2012 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448, with Rev. David Phillips officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in the Wiswall Cemetery, Wilmot, NS. By request, family flowers only.
