MIDDLETON, Stanley Edward Middleton, Greenwich, formerly of Wilmot, born May 04, 1937 in Dunnville, Ontario to parents Cecil John and Ethel Victoria Middleton, passed away peacefully Thursday January 19th, 2012 at Blomidon Court, Greenwich. Stanley spent his childhood and early adolescence in the Toronto, Ontario region before moving to Carlton, Nova Scotia in the early 1960's. His employment took Stanley to several regions of Nova Scotia, and eventually to Mount Uniacke. While working here Stan met Raymond and Jean DeAthe and eventually became a lifetime friend of both. After Ray's passing, Stan remained very close to Jean, eventually moving with her to Old Mill Road in Wilmot, where he remained at Jean's side until her passing. Stanley spent his final years at the new Shannex facility in Greenwich, Kings County, and was particularly proud to be one of the very first clients to take up residence there. He absolutely loved his new home and environment as well as the staff at Blomidon Court. In continuing his life of simple pleasures and easy going attitude Stan was a much loved and respected member of this small self- contained community. He took great joy and pleasure in the caring and attentive staff and enjoyed a good laugh with many of the residents and staff alike. Stanley took extreme pride in showing all of the staff pictures of his beloved antique car. Stanley was predeceased by his Mother and Father, as well as his brother Sonny. He is survived by his brothers Leslie, of Toronto, and Bruce, of Trenton Ontario. He is also survived by his half- brother Alex Banks and half-sister Karen Banks, both of Ontario. Stanley will be missed by his favorite Aunt, Dorothy Conlin of Bowmanville Ontario, his special friends Florence Rand of Cambridge Nova Scotia, Craig and Christina Sproul of Greenwood, as well as friends and acquaintances from Stan's time in the Annapolis Valley and beyond. Stanley's care has been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home where there will be a Funeral and Interment service held on Monday January 23rd at 11 am. A private burial will follow in the Mount Uniacke Cemetery. There is no visitation by request. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stanley's name can be made to the Cambridge United Baptist Church.
