Obituary

Bent, Stella Kathleen, 98, of Nictaux, NS (formerly of Paradise, NS) died peacefully at Mountain Lea Lodge on November 22, 2016 with family by her side. Born in Beaconsfield, NS, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice Ring and Alden Feindell. She was a member of Paradise United Baptist Church, and later, Middleton Baptist Church. Stella was a member of the Women's Missionary Society in both churches receiving her Dominion Life Membership for faithful service, and was a member of Paradise Women's Institute. 'Nan' or 'Gram' as she was affectionately known, loved her family dearly. She lived a life of simple faith, with thankfulness. Stella enjoyed reading, animals (especially cats), and playing games with family and friends. One of her greatest joys was knitting afghans. Many have been blessed by receiving them. Stella is survived by her son, Lowell of Acme, AB; daughter, Lee (Wesley) Reece of Nictaux, NS; grandchildren, Lisa (Murray) Banks; Robert (Lynda); Heidi (Jim); Mark (Jennifer) Reece; Holly (Joe) Gosbee; six great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Stella is also survived by her brother, Gerald "Jerry" Ernest (Marge), Ware, MA and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Stella was predeceased by her husband, Leonard; brother, Ronald; sister, Ruby; and daughter-in-law, Rose. A Celebration of Life will take place at Middleton Baptist Church on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 1:00pm with Rev. Danny Smith and Rev. Robin McCoombs officiating. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place at Stella's request with private family interment. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to Middleton Baptist Church or Canadian Baptist Ministries.
