Naugler, Stella "Irene" – 86, of Middleton, formerly of Lawrencetown, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in North Williamston, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Velma (Bent) Banks. Irene cooked at the Lawrencetown Restaurant and was well known for her coconut cream pies. She was always busy blanching vegetables, pickling, and canning preserves from their large garden at home and she made the best chocolate cakes for her family. Irene enjoyed knitting and sewing doll clothes and she made beautiful quilts. Surviving are her daughters Joy Perkins, Hantsport; Heather Naugler (Andy Costandi), Halifax; Jannette Naugler, Greenwood; son Robert (Marie) Naugler, Alberta; sisters Adah Freeman, Kingston; Shirley Connell, Kentville; Jerry (Wayne) Ritchie, Greenwood; brothers Percy (Audrey in BC) Banks, Kentville; LeRoy Banks, Ontario; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, as well as long time best friends Faye and Ardith. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Lloyd; daughter Jean in infancy; sisters Helen in infancy, and Pat Conrad; brother Garnet and twin brothers Douglas and Donald, Willard and Wilfred. Graveside service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, August 23 in Whitman Cemetery, Lawrencetown. Rev. Dr. Danny Smith officiating.
