Stephanie Star
Hiltz
February 10, 1949 – December 13, 2023
HILTZ, Stephanie Star ~ Age 74, of Berwick, Kings Co., N.S., passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Born in Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Harlan and Olive (Joudrey) Dorey. At the young age of nine, the family moved to Waterville and then to Berwick. Stephanie was a woman of faith and a genuine friend of many. She thoroughly loved to provide and take care of everyone and anyone whom she crossed paths with. Her pride and joy were her four grandchildren, Lainey, Luke, Jake and Josie. Others always came first, as she always reminded her children that it's always better to give than receive. She worked as a care worker at the Grand View Manor, Berwick, for several years, babysat several children throughout the years, watching them grow. She enjoyed watching her children, then grandchildren play sports, and loved to cook and clean. An inductee of the Berwick Sports Hall of Fame, well known for her basketball skills and fierce competitive nature, a steadfast believer in the gospel, her family and friends take great comfort knowing that she is with her Lord and Saviour, after succumbing to the illnesses of ALS. Surviving is her faithful brother, Rod Dorey (Lois); daughter, Nikki Hiltz, Benin, Africa; sons, Robbie (Natasha) Hiltz, Somerset; and Ryan (Angela) Hiltz, Rockland; and grandchildren, Lainey, Luke, Jake and Josie; brother-in-law, Gary Zwicker; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Terrence O. "Terry" Hiltz; sisters, Cheryl Zwicker; and Robyn (Gregg) Mouzar; Donna (Stewart) Spicer; brothers, Dale, Darrell and Wade (Linda) Dorey. A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 16, in Berwick Cemetery, Main St., Berwick. Pastor Ken Fillmore officiating, with a reception to follow in the Windermere Community Hall. Special thanks to daughter Nikki for coming home from Africa to live with and support her mom, brother Rod, and best friend Donna Lee for all the words of encouragement. Donations in memory of Stephanie may be made to the Berwick Food Bank. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448.
