Obituary

ILSLEY, Stephen Mark - age 96, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, on January 3, 1919, he was the son of the late G. Kenneth and Evelyn (Skinner) Ilsley. Stephen was a veteran of the Second World War and had been a member of the Kings County Veterans Club. He was a well-known electrician and plumber in the Berwick area for many years. Stephen was a former member of the Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Department. He was a gardening enthusiast and a life member of the Valley Gardeners Club. Surviving are sons, Preston, Berwick; George, Vancouver, B.C.; a niece and a nephew. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Christina M. (Lee) Ilsley; daughter, Sandra Pineo; sister, Maxine (Ken) Hill. Memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m., Friday April 17, in the Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Hall, 300 Commercial St., Berwick. Rev. Layton MacDonald officiating with a reception and time of fellowship to follow from 4-6 p.m. Interment at a later date. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Annapolis Valley Branch, Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Department or to any charity.
