Steven Murray
Allen
July 6, 1959 – October 17, 2022
Steven Murray Allen – Age 63 of Margaretsville, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 unexpectedly at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born July 6, 1959. At two, Steven went to live with his Aunt Roberta (McGowan) and Uncle Percy (Potter), whom he thought of as his mom and dad. At the age of 18, Steve went to Vocational School where he took Body Shop, graduating in 1979. This is where he met his future wife Karen Little in 1978. Steven first worked at Raymond Brinton's in Smiths Cove. He worked at a few shops over the years but returned to Brinton's (CarStar) the last six. Karen and Steven were married October 16, 1982. They lived the majority of their marriage in East Margaretsville. He was more than an in-law to the Little family, being more of a brother to Kenneth and Seldon and more like a son to Betty and Aubrey. He loved anything mechanical and the first test he would have to do was the speed test, be it by foot peddle power or gas, and it didn't matter if he had on his best clothes or his work clothes; if it needed fixing, he was going to do it right then and there. Steven was also known for his love of his dogs Bruno, Dana, Cheeka, and especially Digger, who would ride with Steven no matter what it was, be it lawntractor, skidoo, 4-wheeler, or car. Digger was always sure to be with his Grampy. Steven will always be remembered as someone you could call if you needed a hand, whether it be a drive somewhere or vehicle worked on; there was never a job too small. Even someone he saw hitchhiking or broken down on the side of the road, he would never just drive by. Karen and the kids will miss their personal mechanic and repairman; he did work like no other in their eyes. Steven is survived by his wife Karen (Little) of 40 years and one day; daughters Ashley (Adam), Waterville; Whitney (Will), Oromocto, NB; and son Chaunce (Andrea), Nictaux; grandkids Kaleb, Liam, Peyton, and Kinsley; brothers Chester (Teresa), Bear River; Raymond (Krista), Bridgetown; Dale (Granville), Craig, NB; sisters Marlene (Mike), Mt. Uniacke; Charlene (Pat), Wisconsin, USA; Fay (Craig), North Bay, Ont.; foster sisters Christa (Leroy), Digby and Lisa (Sal), New Brunswick. He was predecesed by brother Rodney (Thibodeau). In Steve's eyes, there was no one more important than his kids and grandkids, they could do no wrong and there wasn't anything they couldn't accomplish. In keeping with Steven's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022 in Margaretsville United Church, Rev. Val Taylor officiating. Interment in Church Grove Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Steven's memory may be made to the Margaretsville Community Hall or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448. Online guest book may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
