Obituary

JOHNSON, Susan Diane – age 59 of Nictaux, NS passed away peacefully Friday, August 4, 2017 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Ottawa, she was a daughter of Winnifred (Nixon) Lightfoot, Wilmot and the late Charles Graham. Susan was employed for approximately 40 years with Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton having worked in various positions in the hospital and last in Materials Management. She was an active member with her CUPE Local and served as past treasurer. Susan was a 4H leader, a Sunday school teacher, a Nictaux Firette, adored gardening, loved animals and was an avid reader. She had a very strong faith and enjoyed her church family. Susan, a loving wife and mother, devoted her life to raising her family and especially loved her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Susan is survived by her mother Winnifred Lightfoot, Wilmot; daughters, Shawna (Kris) Prince, Trinity, NL; Amanda (Peter) Zubchinsky, Caledon, ON; son, Adam Johnson, Brockville, ON; brother, Bruce (Jennifer) Graham, Caledonia, ON, sister-in-law Cindy Graham; grandchildren, Isla, Caulin, Gavin, Levi, Selina; mother-in-law Madeline "Maddie" Johnson, Nictaux; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Bill) Wentzell, Nictaux; Donna (Frank) Spinney, Harmony; Judy (Charles) Daborn, South Farmington; brothers-in-law, Alan (Julie) Johnson, Brickton; Darryl (Tammy) Johnson, Nictaux and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her father she was predeceased by her husband, Michael Johnson; sister Corinne Bruce; brothers Christopher Graham, Richard Graham and stepfather Irving Lightfoot. A heart felt thank you is extended to her many close friends and Soldiers Memorial Hospital family for all their love, compassion and support. In keeping with Susan's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service in the Nictaux Fire Hall. By request, family flowers only please.
