Kenney, Susan Beth – Age 60 of Middleton, Annapolis Co., Susan was born March 28, 1962 and passed away March 1, 2023 at Valley Hospice with her Mother, Sister and wonderful hospice nurses by her side. Susan was the daughter of Grace Kenney (Franklin) and the late Fred Kenney (2018), sister of Laura Kenney (Bill Morgan) and Aunt to Zoe and Jonah Morgan.
Susan lived in many places with her family as her Dad was a pilot in the RCAF making her an "Airforce Brat" as they say. When her parents came to Nova Scotia (1986) she and her sister stayed in Ottawa where she worked as an Internal Auditor for Canada Post, Industry Canada and Corrections Canada. Due to poor health she had to leave the work force and come to Nova Scotia in 2015.
Susan was on the executive of The Ottawa Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors and loved the friendships formed there especially with John Lees, Carmen Abela and Julie Champagne. Over the years she had very close friendships with Bob Starkey and Jim Chelich. Susan loved her family and friends and loved to laugh. She helped others and was very generous in many ways. White Point Beach was her happy place and loved to spend times with family and friends there. She was pre-deceased by her Dad, nephew Zachary Morgan, grandparents Lenore and Fred Kenney, Bertha and Charles Daniel Franklin, John Kenney, Betty and Danny Franklin. She is survived by Barbara and Ron Franklin, Calgary, Mike and Roberta Kenney, Meadowvale, Grace Kenney, Panoka and many loved cousins.
Thanks so much to Dr. Amanda Smith for all the years of care and compassion. She saw Susan through many health crises. Thanks to Dr. Sloss and Dr. McNeil, nurses and staff of Valley Hospice for their support and love. Many thanks to the Renal Clinic in Halifax and Kentville. Donations may be given to Valley Hospice, World Vision or a charity of your choice.
